‘Before Midnight’ Screencaptures and Movie Clip
Posted by Linny on February 16, 2014

I finally took the time to screencapture Seamus’ scene from the David Linklater film Before Midnight. Seamus is in the movie’s first scene together with Ethan Hawk. The clip can be downloaded from the movie download page.
I also found a short article from last year with Seamus, taking about his experience working with Ethan Hawk. Make sure to read it, East Stroudsburg actor stars with Ethan Hawke in ‘Before Midnight’.

Thanks to Bella’s Diary I have added what looks like two official photos from Seamus’ movie Wish You Well starring ‘Twilight’s Mackenzie Foy. Seamus plays the role of ‘Diamond Skinner’ the best friend of Mackenzie Foy’s ‘Lou Cardinal’. The period family drama is set for a 2014 release.

In other news, the short film Illness has been hitting the Film Festival circuit. The film has garnered positive reviews and recived mulitple nominations, so congratulations to the cast and crew! For more information about Illness visit their Official Facebook.

Last but not least, Before Midnight is set to be released on DVD & BluRay October 22nd in North America and October 28th in the UK. Right now it looks like only the DVD will be released in Region 2. You can pre-order the DVD from Amazon, here or here. And you can pre-order the Region A BluRay here.

The Major-League Minors of Summer 2013
Posted by Linny on May 13, 2013

I stumbled upon an interesting article titled The Major-League Minors of Summer 2013.

The big question when it comes to child actors is: Who will be the next Quvenzhané Wallis?

After “Beasts of the Southern Wild” debuted last July, the plucky young Wallis walked off the screen and all the way to an Oscar nomination for best actress. She set the bar high, and got compared to everyone from Shirley Temple to Jodie Foster.

Now, there’s a new crop of talent rising, including Onata Aprile, Charlie Tahan, Joey King, Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, and Sterling Jerins.

In “Before Midnight,” Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick makes an impression while it’s still daylight

As Hank, the son of Ethan Hawke’s Jesse, Davey-Fitzpatrick (“Moonrise Kingdom”) has one meaty scene as the movie opens. Hank and Jesse are at a Greek Island airport at summer’s end to send Hank back alone to his biological mother who has custody — and actively despises his father.

While Hawke frets and tries to get some kind of big emotional good-bye out of the youth, Davey-Fitzpatrick shows incredible restraint: please, Dad, no scenes. Not here. Not now.

The acting duet between father and son is a perfect example of a child of divorce becoming the parent to his own father. Davey-Fitzpatrick’s restraint contrasts with Hawke’s needy rawness. The perfection and naturalism of Davey Fitzpatrick’s acting stands out — if there was a best supporting actor for kids, he’d be a contender.

During the Sundance Film Festival Before Midnight was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics. The company acquired both the U.S. and U.K. rights for the movie.
The film gained a lot of praise after it premiered.

Before Midnight has also gotten a theatrical release date of May 24th this year. If you all remembered Moonrise Kingdom premiered on May 25th last year so it’s a year apart between Seamus’ two films. Just a fun little tidbit.

Here’s one review from Variety and one by Drew McWeeny from Hitfix. There are a lot of more reviews but these two are my favorite ones.

Last but not least Before Midnight is heading to the The South by Southwest (SXSW) Conferences & Festivals as a Festival Favorites. The Film part of the festival takes place during March 8th-16th. Make sure to check out the festival page if you’re are or consider attending.

Seamus filmed a movie in Greece this August called Before Midnight. The movie is directed by Richard Linklater and is the third instalment to his film Before Sunset. The films star Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. Before Midnight will be presented to buyers at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. Before Sunrise centered on a young American (Ethan Hawke) and a young French woman (Julie Delpy) who meet on a train and spend the night walking around Vienna getting to know each other. Before Sunset picked up nine years later and plays out in real time as the couple cross paths once again and spend an afternoon in Paris. For Before Midnight the encounter takes place in Greece, and here’s the statement released about the film:

“It’s great to be back together again, this time in beautiful Greece to revisit the lives of Celine and Jesse nine years after Jesse was about to miss his flight.”

The film is set for a 2013 worldwide release. Seamus plays the role of Hank. No more information about the character at the moment.
